那些出彩的枫叶英语教师 ——“枫叶教育集团第一届分级教学大赛”获奖教师一览

    2018年10月8日至11月30日,枫叶教育集团ESL教学与外教招聘办公室组织举办了“枫叶教育集团第一届英语分级教学大赛”。本次大赛是在《枫叶ESL分级课程标准》、《枫叶ESL分级测试标准》以及《枫叶ESL分级评估标准》的引领下,进一步促进各校区英语分级教学顺利开展,帮助ESL中外教师更快成长,提升教育教学水平和课堂教学效率,加强校区间教学研讨。本次赛课竞争颇为激烈,各校区英语中心带动全体中外教师精心准备、积极磨课、踊跃参赛,共提交赛课视频82个。经过专家评审团耗时两天的评审和选拔,评选出来自大连园区、天津园区、武汉园区、重庆校区、鄂尔多斯校区及河南校区共12位优秀教师。

    白桦

    大连枫叶小学中教,枫叶教龄12年

    毕业于北京语言大学,英语专业本科,从教12年。2006年起就职于大连枫叶国际小学,任英语教师,由于勤学习、善钻研,很快成长为骨干教师。因工作成绩突出,深受家长和学生的喜爱和认可,并于2017年被任为大连枫叶国际学校小学英语教学中心教研组长和英语班主任,带领全体英语教师进行英语教研活动。白桦老师致力于打造自然流畅,思维灵动的高效课堂,教学环节过渡自然,教学内容组织严密,讲解知识点思路清晰,有条不紊。枫叶的优质教育不仅仅是提供给孩子们,也为青年教师创造了最好的机遇和挑战!白桦老师班里新来的学生说:“跟着Emma老师学习以来我进步很大。课堂内外,老师都给予我们关注和挑战自我的机会,我很感激Emma老师。”听过白桦老师的课会发现高效的课堂能让每一个学生受益。同组老师们这样评价:白桦老师授课逻辑清晰,自然流畅,善于因材施教,是一位钻研型的骨干教师。

    With many years teaching experience,he thinks a teacher isn’t only a guide for the kids, but also a good friend of them. Many a time students struggle to make English conversation fluently. Here as a teacher, he helps his students overcome the feat of speaking English beyond their confidence and become better speaker of the language.

    In his daily teaching, he uses various ways to stimulate students’ interests in learning by walking into the classroom and being a demonstrator, a facilitator,and a personal model.

    学生们说:“我对Promise老师的每节课都很期待,他的课太有趣了,我们都喜欢Promise。”一年级小豆丁们真诚的表达着对他的喜爱,同事们认为Promise是一位善于课堂管理,可以把中西文化融合的非常好的专业教师。

    张莹

    敢于创新,注重实效,纯粹温暖的教学风格使很多小朋友逐渐对英语学习感兴趣。以授人以鱼,不如授人以渔的教学理念影响学生,启发鼓励学生学会思考。几年里教学中的成长源于她对生活的观察与热爱、源于学生予她的教学灵感与期待、源于领导及伙伴们的帮助与支持、更源于枫叶学校的培养与信任。“每个人都是天才,但如果你用爬树能力来断定一条鱼有多少才干,它整个人生都会相信自己愚蠢不堪。”多角度来看待学生,老师和身边的每个人是枫叶最吸引她的地方。

    一年级小朋友们说:“Tina老师每节课都会带一个盒子,里面有各种各样的卡和惊喜,我们很期待。Tina带我们唱英文歌,我们还可以自己编动作呢。”是啊,她的课,孩子们喜欢,因为有惊喜,孩子们也有成就感。就像跟她共事教师对她的评价:Tina老师善于整理教学资源,是一个努力好学的人。

    姜馨

    大连枫叶初中中教,枫叶教龄7年

    毕业于大连外国语大学,2011年加入枫叶,担任初中英语教师、班主任。期间,获大连枫叶初中“百花奖”授课大赛一等奖、枫叶青年教师大赛“最佳风采奖”、第一届新课标大赛课优胜奖、金普新区优秀班主任称号,多次代表校区进行校际、区内展示课。擅长教授英语写作,致力于探索英语写作课型,提升学生英语学习兴趣,用生动形象的教学方法教授英语写作技巧。授课风格幽默活泼,乐于探索创新。采访时,姜老师说道:“枫叶为我提供了一个很广阔的平台去激发自己的潜能。在枫叶工作的这些年,最为弥足珍贵的是领导们的引领,是同伴们的支持,是能参与到学生们成长过程中的快乐。在枫叶工作的七个年头,我感受到了枫叶的温度,更因如此,让我对自己在枫叶的未来更有信心。”

    同事评价姜老师说:“Nina的课堂气氛活跃,善于激发学生的学习兴趣,注重培养学生的思维能力,学生学在其中,乐在其中,用在其中。”学生们说:“姜老师治学严谨、要求严格,能深入了解学生的学习和生活状况,循循善诱。”

    Maria Botes

    武汉枫叶小学外教,枫叶教龄4年

    She thinks demonstration is a good way to help students comprehend material (showing and visualizing). And students in level 1 learn best from hands-on activities (practicing and repetition). “I want my classroom to be a comfortable and friendly place. I want my students to understand exactly what they need to do, the reason why and the importance of doing it.I want to hold both my students and myself accountable.” 

    Director says Maria Botes is the teacher who has very strong responsibilities to work, she takes part in a lot of school extra curriculum activities, and she is helping with new international teachers to set up routines at the very beginning in terms of teaching. Students says “she is just like our grandma and she cares a lot for us. We study and play games together in the class. We have lots of fun. “ Colleagues say “though she’s not young in appearance, she is always teaching with a young heart and with endless energy. ”

    Tony Johnson

    武汉枫叶高中外教,枫叶教龄4年

    Tony is from New York City, and is in his fourth year at Wuhan Maple Leaf, where he has taught on all three campuses – elementary, middle and high school. In Tony’s opinion, Maple Leaf is truly a remarkable educational system designed to create global leaders out of any student who challenges him/herself to seize this truly life-transcending opportunity. 

    Tony’s teaching philosophy is predicated on the idea that the teacher and student are partners – both must give and receive, and be actively engaged in the learning process. Tony’s teaching style is casual, but demanding. He approaches his lessons very seriously, but uses humor to break down barriers and set a comfortable tone. Tony’s teaching method is active engagement – designed to get students to think and express their own original ideas.

    What do others say about Tony? “Tony builds relationships with the students both inside and outside the classroom. I believe that this is a key component to his success,” says Jean Shi, Director of High School ESL. “Mr. Tony always encourages us to improve,” says Simons Zhang, Beginner level high school student. “Mr. Tony has really helped me improve my speeches by making me feel confident,” says Fredick Tu, Bridging level high school student.

    学生评价Echo老师说:“总是能教给我们很多阅读和写作的技巧。我在Echo老师的课上,通过读绘本、读故事开拓阅读知识面和提高阅读技巧,进而提升写作水平。”

    Jon Steenbeke

    I am Jon Steenbeke. I grew up in the United States in a small state called New Hampshire. I have worked with all levels and ages of students, which built up my experience. I have come to believe that all students possess hidden gems, talents, and it is the job of a teacher to help bring those gems out. I don’t see students as empty vessels waiting to be filled with knowledge by their teachers. As a language teacher, I try to organize my lessons around activities that get my students up and speaking. I have found using the English language as a tool in order complete a task is more effective than just teaching them English for the sake of learning English. I also feel strongly that joyous classrooms are a much better environment to learn anything, so I focus a lot of energy into creating an exciting an energetic experience when I can.

    I graduated with a degree of bachelor of Education major in English. I’m a certified English teacher which I acquired by passing The License Examinations for English Teachers. I’ve been working in Maple Leaf International School, Henan for more than three years. To be a truly effective mentor, it requires passion and love especially love for the students. I treat my students with love and I believe that’s the best approach that I can give them. I also believe that each student is a unique individual who needs a caring and stimulating atmosphere to learn and grow and it is my ultimate goal as a passionate teacher to help my students develop their fullest potential by providing an environment that will meet their learning needs.

    To becoming an efficient and effective teacher, one must be well-rounded, flexible, and has a heart to teach. My philosophy is that “ A great teacher doesn’t only teach; she must have the ability to listen and understand the diverse learners she has”. It starts with building a good rapport to students and making them comfortable and confident of learning, most especially learning the second language- English. I am blessed to be part of Maple Leaf Educational System. I am overwhelmed with gladness which my handwork is appreciated and valued, the support system I get from my colleagues, and the love from the students. I am truly grateful.

    陈佳玉

    从2013年大学毕业至今一直就职于重庆枫叶国际学校初中部,是一个职业创新的枫叶人,在枫叶工作的五年取得了很大的进步,曾获得2013年集团英语教学中心新教师视频课大赛一等奖,2018年集团第一届英语分级大赛优质课奖,重庆市永川区2018初中英语中青年教师“卓越课堂”优质课大赛一等奖等荣誉。在教学中她注重学生的英文阅读,培养其创造性思维,尊重每一个学生。她很认同这样的教育理念“教育其实很简单:一腔真爱,一份宽容,如此而已。”

    徐五岳

    天津华苑枫叶小学中教,枫叶教龄6年
